The best time to set up your OD rink is just prior to when the temperature drops below freezing. Here in Minnesota, that is typically in early November. Most orders will take roughly 2-3 weeks to manufacture plus up to 5 business days transit time. For these reasons, we recommend ordering by at least October 1st.
How you set up your OD rink and what type of liner you use will determine the health of your grass. We highly recommend using a white liner to assure turf health. A clear, black, or blue tarp or flooding without a tarp can lead to dead grass in the spring due to not enough sun penetration, too much sun penetration or flooding the roots of the grass.
Completely flat yards don't exist-believe us, we've looked! Be sure to measure the slope of your yard BEFORE you start acquiring components and setting up your rink boards. For more info on measuring the slope of your backyard, contact us.
